Red, White & Blue Cheese Burgers

<!-- -->

  • 1½ lbs lean ground beef
  • 4 oz crumbled blue cheese, divided
  • ¾ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp fresh ground pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 6 sesame buns
  • Red onion slices, tomato slices and lettuce leafs (for toppings)
  • 1
    Combine the ground beef, 2 ounces of blue cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Set aside.
  • 2
    Preheat the grill and oil the grill rack.
  • 3
    While the grill is heating, form meat mixture into 6 patties.
  • 4
    Grill burgers for about 5 minutes on each or until desired doneness. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, top the burgers with the remaining blue cheese.
  • 5
    Serve on sesame buns with red onion, tomato and lettuce.
  • When forming the patties, make a small dent in the center of each to account for the center of the burger "puffing out" while cooking. This will give you nice, flat burgers.
