Product Recalls: Hyland's Teething Tablets

Tablets contain belladonna, which may pose a risk to children in large doses.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a recall of Hyland's Teething Tablets because the pills may be dangerous for children. The homeopathic teething tablets contained uncontrolled levels of belladonna, a substance that can be harmful to children in large doses.

Additionally, the pill containers do not possess child-proof caps, so there is a risk that children can consume more than the recommended dose.

FDA recommends that consumers not use this product and throw out any in your possession. FDA advises consumers to consult their pediatricians if their child experiences symptoms such as seizures, difficulty breathing, lethargy, excessive sleepiness, muscle weakness, skin flushing, constipation, difficulty urinating, or agitation after using Hyland’s Teething Tablets.

Visit the FDA's web site for further information or to file a report about this product.
