Gear Not to Register for When Preparing for Baby
Submitted by shona
"Oh, she will LOVE that changing table, and look it's only $250!" "Oh, no look at that, a wipe warmer! She has to have that!" or better yet, "Oh how precious, only $50 for a tiny pair of Weeboks, and only $75 for baby Air Jordan's." Seriously! There's baby gear out there to register for what we really need as new parents and things that are just downright ridiculous!
My husband and I are currently expecting our sixth child (yes, that is the number 6), so we have been around the block a few times. I know as a first-time mom, or even a second-time new mom, it is hard not to register for those cutesy little things that make you speak in baby talk, but in the long run, practical registering will save you time, money and sanity. So I need help from all you veterans, post at least one thing you think is frivolous to register for, and at least one thing that SHOULD be registered for. Tell us: Are wipe warmers really necessary? How many onesies does a baby need? What do you think about video baby monitors? Did you really ever use that jogger stroller? Moms who are preparing for baby need to know from veterans like you!
Oh, and keep one thing in mind, new mommies: Think about having a diaper shower, for your baby shower. You will need ALL those diapers and wipes and Desitin and Tylenol and thermometers so much more than gear like that cute little outfit that cost someone $30 that your precious little one MIGHT wear once.
