The Clean Plate Club
It's not that my husband is a bad guy. Sometimes it is frustrating the way they barely touch what we serve them for dinner. We know that they're hungry, because if you offer them stuff like cake and ice cream, they magically have room for that. But real food? They'd often rather skip it, or they'll eat what they're given, ask for more, and then leave the extra portion on their plate. My hubby worries that they are not getting enough good stuff in them, which is why he insists they clean their plates. And the kids' doctor echoed this sentiment when my 4-year old daughter went in for a check up and was deemed underweight with low iron.
