Kids' Eating: Make Healthy Eating Fun

I am a Japanese cooking instructor who teaches healthy and delicious Japanese home cooking to both grown-ups and children. Through teaching children, I am pleasantly surprised how they are more open and willing to try new ingredients when they are presented in a playful manner and also when they are with other children. Their parents often are shocked to learn how their picky eaters actually tried some unfamiliar food, such as lotus roots, seaweed and so on.
It is challenging to make them try new things at home, but a little touch of fun, such as cutting vegetables into a flower shapes or putting a face in a rice ball, can make an enormous difference in kids' eating habits. In addition, it is very important for children to be exposed to variety of ingredients and taste.
It's always fun to go grocery shopping with them and do the exotic food hunting together. You might have to learn how to cook them, but even if that didn't turn out to be the most delicious thing, it is the process that is a great activity with your children! Please check my website for some useful Japanese cooking tips!
