Kid Healthy Snack: Peanut Butter Chocolate Banana Delight

<!-- -->

This classic combo never goes out of style.

  • 2 bananas
  • 4 tablespoons peanut butter
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 1
Peel the bananas and slice each one in half lengthwise.
  • 2
Place each banana (two halves) on an individual plate.
  • 3
Spread each half with 1 tablespoon of peanut butter.
  • 4
Place chips in a microwave-safe dish and microwave on high for two to four minutes or until melted (time may vary according to individual oven). Remove carefully from oven—dish will be hot.
  • 5
    Stir chips until smooth.
  • 6
Let the kids help by carefully spooning the chocolate into a sandwich-sized plastic zipper bag, gently squeezing the chocolate into one corner.
  • 7
Snip a small triangle off the opposite corner, and then let the kids squeeze the chocolate out of the bag onto the peanut-butter-covered banana halves, decorating it as they go!
  • 8
Wait half a minute or so (if you can) and dig in!
  • If you want to save time and a little mess, tackle the chocolate yourself. Use a spoon or a pastry brush to spread the chocolate over the peanut butter after step 5.
