What could be causing my teen daughter to overeat?
Everyone overeats at times. Sometimes girls overeat because they've learned a pattern in their families. For example, girls may observe a parent overeating because of stress, anger or other feelings. Teens sometimes overeat when they're being social. Eating is a big part of teenage socializing. Girls also sometimes eat a little extra around the time of their period—much like some adult women. It might be helpful for you to take a look at your family patterns to see if you may be communicating overeating patterns that you can change.
