Repeated symptoms also may be a sign of your child's having different viral infections, one after another—a possibility that is not uncommon during cold-and-flu season.
Still, since there are some rare diseases that can affect a child's joints and energy levels, it's a good idea to have your child checked by a pediatrician anytime symptoms last longer than you might expect.
