How can I keep strangers from touching my adorable baby?
I understand that my child is adorable and irresistible, but how can I deal with strangers touching my baby?
By being clear, polite and firm, you may keep your baby safe from unwanted touching. I think honesty is fine: When a stranger approaches and appears to want to hold or touch your baby, simply tell them that you are an anxious new mom, and while you appreciate their interest and attention, you'd rather they admire your baby without touching. Many moms handle the situation by telling strangers (along with their more intrusive loved ones!) that their pediatrician has suggested they limit contact with people while their babies are so little to avoid the problems associated with germs and kids.
