Write a quick letter authorizing your parents, close friends and typical babysitters to seek medical treatment for your child in your absence. Ask your pediatrician to put the note in your kid's file so that if you're not available, your kid won't have to wait for hours to get medical attention. We can't guarantee that he won't have to wait for hours in the waiting room, but at least your lack of planning won't be the reason for the hold up in your kid's health treatment.
