Keep Kids From Catching Colds
How can I keep my kid from catching colds?
While there are some things you can do to try to keep your kid from getting sick, it's hard to prevent all colds from infecting your family. Children typically get three to ten colds a year; usually the first year a child enters school, whether preschool or kindergarten, is the worst.
- Frequent and thorough hand-washing
- Getting the flu shot
- Avoiding sick people
- Bolstering the immune system by eating healthy, exercising regularly and getting plenty of sleep
The good news is that getting colds helps kids build up their immune systems. For every year that your child is in school, he will probably have fewer and fewer colds.
