Mother's Day Ideas for Her First Mother's Day
It's my wife's first Mother's Day and I'd love some ideas on how to make it special.
Celebrating Mother's Day for the first time is, indeed, a special occasion. Let her know how much you love her, and how grateful you are to be able to honor her today. Have your camera ready to capture this "first" for the scrapbook. And since your baby isn't even a year old yet, my guess is that your wife hasn't paid much attention to herself since the baby was born. New mothers are notorious for being so focused on their little ones that they forget to take care of themselves.
My advice would be to pamper her by taking care of the baby in the morning and allowing her to sleep in. Breakfast in bed, a foot massage and a chance for a nice hot bubble bath may be in order. You can't go wrong with a beautiful bouquet of sweet-smelling flowers—especially if they're her favorite. Give her a gift certificate for a massage or a mani/pedi so that she will have an opportunity for future pampering.
And how about time for the two of you? Plan a romantic dinner after the baby is in bed; don't forget the candles and soft music. Happy Mother's Day to the three of you.
