Handle your kid's bad attitude by taking the following steps:
report abuse- Be sure your kid's clear that the attitude is a no-go. Even if you've said it a million times, a little reminder that you won't tolerate a bad attitude can't hurt.
- Keep your cool. Your kid's bad attitude is really a power grab and giving in by melting down is effectively a win for your kid. Let him know he hasn't gotten to you by keeping a calm demeanor.
- Walk away. If your kid's being disrespectful to you, don't stand there and take it. Give yourself a time out and let her know you'll talk to her when she's done being rude.
