Nanny 911: Parenting and Disciplining Stepchildren

My husband has four kids ranging from 10 to 17 years old. When they visit, it is like pulling teeth to get them to do things they should automatically do with out being told, such as taking a shower, brushing their teeth, putting their plates in the dishwasher after eating, etc. How can we get them to do the things they need to do without hounding them every five minutes?

This is tricky as the rules may be different at their other home. I suggest sitting down the kids and making a set of family rules, work it out with them and make it fair! You can have them sign an agreement and if they break the rules agree on a consequence for it, once the rules are clear and the boundaries set life should get easier!
