Preparing Your Child for College: School Admission Essays

As college application time nears, give your kid a blank journal to jot down any memorable stories, tidbits and quotes that she hears. That way, when she starts writing her application essays, she'll have plenty of ideas to get started with. You'll save her (and yourself) from a writer's block meltdown, and you'll save the admissions office from having to read another essay about last summer's family reunion.
