She's begging for a tattoo/nose ring/belly button ring and won't take no for an answer. Maybe it's time to rethink things. Ask yourself if the insane thing she wants is really going to have a long-term affect on her health or happiness. If it won't, consider letting her do it. Sure, you might have a purple-haired, pierced kid, but at least you won't have a purple-faced kid screaming that you're "so mean."
