Teen Driving: Discuss Car Expenses

Is having a teen driver in the family going to be a bit of financial hit? If you're not able—or willing—to foot the bill all by yourself, let her know about it before she's sitting in the car, waiting for her driver's exam. About a year before that (dreaded) day, discuss with her who will be paying for insurance, driver's ed and the car itself. She'll appreciate the advance notice so that she can earn her share of the money (or mooch it off Grandpa).
