Signs That Your Teen Is Stressed
Everyone has some stress, and not all stress is bad, but too much stress is never a good thing. The following symptoms are serious indicators that your kid is about to have a stress overload.
- More trouble with teachers.
- An increased need for a lot of sleep—or not sleeping well.
- A desire to eat all the time—or never eating.
- Headaches, stomachaches, colds, infections, sore muscles.
- Escapist behavior—overdoing one thing (TV, music, studying, sleeping, Web surfing) and ignoring other things.
- Withdrawal from friends and family.
- Crying for no apparent reason.
- Feeling like an idiot.
- Feeling restless and anxious; worrying all the time.
- Feeling like everything is out of control—like they're out of control.
- Depression, sadness, crabbiness, the blahs.
