Help Your Teen Stay Awake at School

Mr. Balding says your daughter's been dozing in algebra class ... again. Rather than giving her a sugary snack or soda to overcome that early afternoon stretch, give her more protein for lunch. Meat, cheese or nuts—along with water—can give her enough of a midday boost to keep her awake until the bell rings. Getting her to give up the 3 PM nap in order to do homework is another story.
