Positive Parenting: Getting Kids to Clean Up

Putting dirty clothes in the laundry basket—instead of on the floor—seems like a fairly simple concept, but straightforward as it is, your kid hasn't quite gotten it. Try explaining it in terms he can understand: Hang a basketball hoop over his laundry basket. He'll be inspired to shoot (and score!)—and keep his bedroom floor clean. Well, relatively clean, considering the fact that putting toys away is another difficult-to-grasp concept.
