Talking to Your Kids About 9/11

Get expert advice on discussing the 9/11 tragedy with your kids.

As the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks approaches, your kids will probably see lots of coverage on the tragedy, whether it be on TV, online or in print. Depending on their ages, developmental stages and personalities, kids will react totally differently, and often express different concerns.

Not sure how to discuss the topic? NickNews produced an informative, kid-friendly special for the 10-year anniversary of the attacks, available at NickNews.com or as a free download at iTunes. There's also a NickNews discussion guide (available here in PDF format) that you can use to help make these conversations with your kids easier.

And for more expert advice on talking to your kids about serious issues, visit our Talking to Your Kids boot camp, this month, where we're giving you a new topic to get your kid talking every weekday.
