Who Will Cry for That Little Boy?

So recently I had to get rid of one of my friends. Well, I never really considered her a friend, more so an associate. She had given birth to her son about two years before I'd had my child. Even while she was pregnant, she would always tell me how she resented the child's conception and most of all the child's father. (It was a one-night stand.) After telling the guy that she was pregnant, he would always agree to be in the child's life, yet he never made an effort to do so. When the child was born, I would watch him on numerous occasions for her. She would take this time out to go to sexual orgies and smoke weed. I noticed her behavior getting worse. She at one point told me how she'd considered killing the child along with herself.

I would talk to her parents, and her brothers and sisters, telling them that she needed psychological help! The most they would do was shake their heads! (Can you believe that?) So finally after speaking with my family and my husband, we all agreed that it would be better if I disassociate myself from her at once. I've never felt better in my life! However, my mind still wonders about that sweet little boy.

A lot of people tell me, "Oh don't worry about them, you have your own life! Let her deal with her mistakes!" And that's exactly what I've done. She recently called me to tell my that child services has decided to open an investigation on her. I couldn't be more relieved. Although I've distanced myself from someone horrible, I can take solace that the little boy will finally get the help he deserves! Thank you!
