Why Am I Judged as the Stereotypical Teen Mum-to-Be?

Submitted by ailis270111
All my life I have always loved children—I even had names picked out for them! Tooloola and Blousie—from Bugsy Malone—although I would never use them now! I'm still living with my parents and seeing my partner (yes, partner—I'm engaged!) almost every day, and things are going brilliantly ... but when getting on a bus or walking around the shops in the town, I have people I have never met or seen before looking me up and down and muttering things under their breath!

It's so rude—for all they know I could just be a very young-looking 30-year-old. I'm 17 but often mistaken for a 20/21-year-old ... and I could be stinking rich and have all the best schools lined up for my child. But no one stops to consider that, and it hurts. I am scared to death, but I know that me and my partner can do it and we both have good families behind us for support.

Just a short message for all those who have such negative views on teen parents ... please stop judging me!!! :(
