9 Recyclables That Make Great Play Props
One man's trash can become any kid's treasure; plus, it's the green thing to do!
- Clean, empty milk cartons (and egg cartons, too!).
- Don't forget the power of a plain cardboard box - the bigger the better! Grab a large moving box and try this Jumping Jack Flash activity.
- Pasta or cracker boxes.
- Plastic peanut butter or jelly jars. Also great for bathtub play.
- Magazines for cutting out photos and making collages or storybooks.
- Your old, expired driver's license or passport.
- Ticket stubs from airplanes, movies, or the theater, as well as programs or playbills.
- Old greeting cards and envelopes (to "mail").
- A disabled cell phone or even a laptop. Just be sure to remove any small parts and the batteries for safety.
