Occasionally (ha!) planes get delayed, flights get cancelled and people get bumped—so it's probably a good idea to expect the (ahem)expected and have some fun airport games on hand before you head out on vacation.
- Look for the art. Some airports feature art or other cultural displays. Check out the interactive aviation exhibit at Chicago O'Hare and live concerts at Nashville International.
Find the Kid Zone. Many airports have children's play areas. At Baltimore/Washington International, kids explore airplane parts; at Boston Logan, they can shoot down a baggage claim slide.
Watch the Planes. Bring along Richard Scarry's A Day at the Airport, then find the best vantage point to watch the planes take off and land.
Count Backpacks. Together, head out on a "Backpack Safari," strolling through the terminal and riding on the shuttle train in search of everyone's favorite carry-on-bag.report abuse
