Spring Fun: Crafts and Projects for Kids
It's spring!!! Time to shed those dark, drab layers and get all flowery, pastel-y happy. We've got baskets full of spring crafts to keep your kids busy and get your house looking bright and cheery this season.
- If it's still too cold for real flowers (or if your green thumb is more brown), give your house a springtime feel with fake blooms. Make button bouquets or potted paper flowers. You can even make a miniature garden in a jam jar.
- If real flowers are your thing but dirty fingernails and sore knees aren't, try making a tiny eggshell garden.
- Our supercool butterfly garden starts out as a craft and grows into a patch of butterfly-attracting flowers.
- While you're working with the whole butterfly motif, try making a colorful (and easy) butterfly mobile for your baby to dream to.
- Make adorable (and delish) popcorn flowers. One caveat: These treats might not survive long enough to go on display.
- Teach your kids (and yourself!) how to make origami with this cool bunny origami kit.
- Make your own papier mâché Easter baskets (or May Day baskets, or Mother's Day baskets, or Just Because baskets).
- Even cooler, did you know you can grow real, live grass in your Easter basket?
- Make a pencil holder out of colorful eggshells.
- Move over, Mary Poppins. Make a homemade kite. And let's go fly it!
- Make marbelized Easter eggs. These eggs look like they should be on the cover of a magazine, but really, your kids (even toddlers!) can make them.
- Make an Easter chick apron.
