My daughter just turned 2 last week and she sleeps in a toddler bed. She's been in the toddler bed for 4 months now and she does great in it at night (never gets up and plays, no tantrums, etc.).
BUT I am a teacher and I'm home for the summer...and for the last week she's been awful about naptime. She throws a fit and then constantly gets up and plays with all of ther toys when she's supposed to be laying down.
That brings us to today...today I put her down at 1:30....and have put her back in bed 8 times now. She's 2 and a half hours into a "nap" and NO sleeping has taken place. In fact, I just went in to check on her and she colored all over her sheets with crayon. ALL OVER THEM. So I have a powder pink crib sheet and pillow with black, brown, and red crayon swirls. (Not to mention the trace amounts of crayon on her face).
I don't know what to do! It almost seems like she's not laying down just to see me come back in over and over again. It's not a fun game! Every book I read says to keep going in and laying her back down...but when I do she smiles and says "mama, I nap", then closes her eyes...and then 10 minutes later she's up playing again.
Help! This girl needs a nap! On the upside, you can own your own set of Picasso sheets for the small price of...your sanity.
