Go Shopping for Potty Supplies

Congratulations! You passed the potty training quiz and you're ready to start potty training! The next step: Get the right potty training gear! Potty training without the right supplies is like trying to bake cookies with only half the ingredients. It's no fun to stop mid-stream (ha!) and run out to pick up something you need. So get off to the right start and go get yourself the right gear.

Here's how to plan your shopping trip:

• Make a shopping list. Use The Potty Pro's Potty Training Gear Guide to help you figure out exactly what to buy—from the actual potty to wipes and books and potty training dolls (yes, they actually make those).
  
  
• Head to the store—with your kid. Make sure both of you are in a good mood and well rested. This trip should be fun!
  
  
• Let your kid pick out the gear. Regardless of your bathroom decor and your taste in underwear, your kid's going to be much more excited about potty training if it's the stuff she likes. So hold your tongue if she picks out black underwear with cars on them and a green potty with monsters on the side of it!
  
  
• Admire your booty (No, not that one!). Have your kid help you unpack all of her new potty gear and go over each item together. The more comfortable she is with her all the new gear, the better chance you have of her actually using it!

Remember: Having the right potty gear will get you on the right road to potty success—because that way, you're always ready to go when she's ready to go.
