Potty Training by Two

Submitted by PrnLeia
We started training at 18 Months and both kids started sitting on the toilet as soon as they could walk around 13 months. I would sit her there and read books to her and the same thing with my son too.

They both caught on really well ... I guess the secret for us was Ditch The Diapers except at nap and bed time. 'Cause if it looks like a diaper and smells like a diaper—its a diaper! (Including training pants.)

My son was trained in a month. My daughter had accidents on and off till 2 1/2. Either way the savings were incredible and needless to say they hate to wear the diaper. My son now 22 months has been dry for the last 4 nights ... yippee! My daughter on and off, so we are not ditching the night time diapers yet.

Here are my potty training tips:
  • underwear and panties
  • stay home for 3 solid days and just clean up
  • put them in the thickest pants possible
  • dont make a big deal if they pee or poop, just tell them, "We do it in the potty"
  • take them to the potty before bed, before bath, before you leave to do anything.

Good Luck! I'm taking a all inclusive vacation with the money I'm saving on diapers!
