Potty Training: Getting Boys to Put the Toilet Seat Down
Teaching boys to put the seat down is a form of potty training in and of itself!
You should first try offering a reward like you might have done when you were actually potty training. If that doesn't work, bring in a punishment. Tell them this is really important to you, then offer a reward like additional money for their allowance or maybe paying for online music or games, if that's important to them. Tell them for every week that you find the toilet seat down, they'll get $4 or four downloads. Start by offering the privilege, then take it away if they don't do it, or only partly do it. If you find the toilet seat up once or twice that week, maybe they'll only get $2 instead of $4; that should catch their attention. It's also important to praise them as they improve.
