Potty Training: Parent Discomfort With "Modeling"
How can I encourage my toddler to potty train if I'm uncomfortable letting him see me pee?
If the thought of your toddler observing you use the toilet—up close and personal—pushes your modesty or comfort zone too far, don't sweat it. A lot of men and women feel this way. You can find toilet-training role models for your children who are closer to their own age. You can also encourage him in his own training by sitting on the toilet seat fully clothed and explaining what happens when grown-ups, big boys and big girls use the toilet.
