Help, my toddler used to sleep through the night, now he's not!

My son is 14 months old, he has always slept through the nigh, even when we first brought him home. For the last three weeks he has been waking up either twice a night or once a night. Either way I'm not getting any sleep.
Someone suggested giving him more protein at night. If he's not hungry there is not way to make him eat. Can anyone help?
