Christmas Recipes: Easy Chocolate Bark

This is my hubby's favorite chocolate treat--and he has no idea that it takes less then five minutes to make!

  • 16 oz semi-sweet baking chocolate (2 boxes--16 squares)
  • Toppings: nuts, dried fruit, pretzels, candy, peppermint
  • Wax paper
  • 1
Unwrap chocolate cubes and put them in a glass microwave-safe bowl. Cook on high for 30 seconds, stir. Continue cooking in 30 second intervals until chocolate is melted (about 2 minutes). Stir until smooth.
  • 2
Line a jelly roll pan with wax paper.
  • 3
Use a rubber spatula to pour chocolate onto wax paper lined pan and spread to about 1/8 inch thick.
  • 4
Sprinkle toppings evenly over still-warm chocolate.
  • 5
Place entire pan in freezer for 15-20 minutes until set.
  • 6
    Break into small pieces.
  • 7
    Flavor ideas:
-- Cranberries or dried apricots and almonds
    -- crushed pretzels
    -- crushed mixed nuts
-- caramel bits and sea salt
    -- peanuts and raisins
-- peanut butter or butterscotch chips
    -- crushed candy canes
  • Store in the refrigerator so it stays firm.
  • We're guessing that this will be one of your family's favorite Christmas recipes. Maybe it's time to make it a tradition?
