Is Christmas turning into pine needle-palooza? The baby's eating them, Katie's poking Nicky with them and you've just cleaned up Fluffy's third prickly, pine-scented hairball. This year, when holiday planning, ask your your tree vendor to cut another inch off the bottom. This lets the trunk absorb more water, keeping the tree alive (and shed-free) longer. (And, while you're out, buy Fluffy some catnip.)
