Your kids love visiting Aunt Patty during the holidays, but to you she's just the Queen of Backhanded Compliments. This year, rather than quietly seething through the visit, try to focus on the quality of your kids' experiences instead of your own feelings. It'll make it easier to avoid disputes. (And, if that doesn't work, a dash of peppermint schnapps in your cocoa can work wonders, too.) When holiday planning, you may even consider skipping the visit entirely if it makes you too miserable!
