Kids' Exercise: Candace Cameron-Bure on Healthy Habits

Submitted by Braden
I don't think that kids get enough exercise these days. There is a problem with obesity in this country, and we parents are responsible to make sure our kids are healthy and fit. After all, we are the ones who let our kids eat junk food and fast food. We can't solely rely on physical education in schools to make sure our kids are getting enough exercise. Some schools don't even have PE. As parents, it's our job to get our kids out and moving!
My husband and I have our kids exercise six days a week, but we do it as a family activity and it's really fun for all of us. We ride bikes, we play tennis, we Rollerblade and we even jog together. My 6-year-old can happily run a mile and a half!
It's a great way to do something together as a family, and it can really open up the lines of communication with your kids. Also, it will get YOU in shape. I'm not talking about doing a big, extreme workout or a fancy exercise class. A simple bike ride with your kids or a walk is great for your relationship and your bodies. Face it: As parents, we have no one to blame but ourselves if our children are overweight and out of shape.
Besides being a mom, you might also know Candace as D.J. Tanner from the TV show Full House.
What else is on Candace Cameron-Bure's mind?
