This week you MUST keep track of EVERYTHING you purchase AND you can ONLY buy items that are ON SALE or for which you have a coupon.
DO NOT buy things just because they're on sale. Just because you CAN spend, doesn't mean you SHOULD. Saving 60 percent on a hot pair of jeans isn't saving if you didn't need those jeans in the first place ... it's spending! Remember, we're all about eliminating the excess and "spaving" (that's spending disguised as saving!) is excess if we ever saw it.
Keep a list of everything you spend and be prepared to update it daily. Take your list with you, if you need to, so you can be sure to record ALL of your spending. A pack of gum, a pair of jeans, a new car ... you need to write down everything you spend this week.
Grab an envelope and stick it in your purse or wallet so you can save all of your receipts. Write down any non-receipted purchases on the outside of the envelope.
