Saving Money: Lower Your Credit Card Interest Rates

I did this last year and it worked. I got a 0% APR for an entire year on my Mastercard. My mom gave me this tip. It worked for her, too. I called the credit card company and asked them what interest rate I was paying. Then I said, "Oooh, that's too high. I keep getting offers in the mail for lower-rate cards." They then checked to see if there was another type of card or offer that had a lower rate. They found one with one significantly lower rate. Then I said, "I'm remodelling my kitchen and bath in the next few months, so I plan on making a lot of large purchases using this card, so I really don't want to be paying that rate either." (This was true.) They then put me on the phone with someone else who offered me the 0% rate.
