
Advice for Parents of Twins From 5 Minutes for Mom
We often say that if everyone in the world had a twin, the world would be a happier place. Having an identical twin sister is an incredible blessing and we could never imagine living without one another. We are a team—we work together, live two blocks apart and pretty much co-parent our children. However, the wonderful parts of life as a twin don't mean there aren't many challenges with being an identical twin—especially growing up!

- Recognize the inner conflict twins face. While they have a deep love and intense loyalty to their twin sibling, they are also frustrated by their constant "ties" to them.
- Create individual space for each twin. From sharing things like a room, toys and clothes to sharing friends to even sharing a reputation, twins get sick of each other and want their own space and identity.
- Help them navigate playdates. Remember that for playdates, triangles are tricky and twins don't like it when a friend tries to exclude the other twin! Our mother would often explain "how to play with twins" to our playdates. LOL!
