Talking to Kids About Custody Issues
My soon-to-be ex-husband and I are fighting for custody. How should I talk with my kids about where they are going to live?
Children need to know that both of their parents will continue to provide for them. Let them know that you and their dad cannot agree on the specifics of living arrangements now. If the two of you are unable to decide, a judge will decide. Your children need to know that adults will make the decision and even though they may be asked for their preferences, they will not have to choose one parent over the other.
