Dealing With an Overbearing Mother-in-Law

Does anyone else have an overbearing mother-in-law? This is our first baby. He's deployed. His mother invited me to spend my high-risk pregnancy with her in another state. Now every decision I make, she takes personally.

Then she'll talk down to me about how I make her feel and the previous miscarriages I've suffered. But without any way home or support from her or my family, I'm stuck. I thought I was doing the right thing by staying with her. ...

Now I'm stuck in mother-in-law hell. It's hard to be an adult and make decisions about your family with unsolicited advise and constant contradiction. She does things she tells me not to, steals my moment when I found out I was having a girl, turns it all about her and then makes me feel like I'm wrong.

I sincerely hope that people take into account they are the grandparents, not the parents! Let the parents make the decisions and have their moment in the sun.
