When traveling with kids, knowing when to go is often more important than where to go. Morning is the best time to hit the beach (less crowded, cleaner, cooler), go to a theme park (aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday), or start a road trip (leave in the late morning to avoid traffic and sun in the eyes). Save museum visits for the afternoon, when you'll escape the flood of tour groups—and the heat.
