The bulk of your family travel cash usually ends up in the airline's pocket. Show them who's boss by booking your flights on Tuesdays. Airfare sales are usually announced on Tuesday mornings, so your best chance at a cheap flight is booking by early afternoon. Maybe you could use that spare cash to buy (another) new outfit for the trip.
