Uncle Onion's Turkey Bean Chili

- 1¼ lb ground turkey (at least 90% lean)
- 12 oz crushed tomato (without paste)
- 12 oz water
- 1 large onion, coursely chopped
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp ground red pepper (or more for hotter chili)
- 2 tsp all purpose flour
- 1 can (15 oz) red kidney beans, rinsed and well drained
In large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the turkey, stirring to break up the meat. Drain the fat.
Add the tomatoes, water, onions, chili powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, cumin, oregano, and red pepper. Mix thoroughly. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, 20 to 22 minutes.
Stir in the flour and beans, stirring for 1 minute. Cook uncovered for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally.
