Shrimp Fra Diavolo

  • 1 (16-oz) box linguini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic
  • ¼ to ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper, or to taste
  • 1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar pasta sauce
  • ½ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

    In a large pot of lightly salted boiling water, cook the linguini according to package directions. Drain and place in a large serving bowl, and set aside.

    Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the olive oil. Add the garlic and crushed red pepper, and cook for 30 seconds, stirring to release the flavors.

    Add the shrimp and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, turning once, until shrimp are pink and cooked through.

    Add the pasta sauce, stirring well to mix with the shrimp, and heat until it just starts to bubble.

    Pour the sauce over the prepared pasta; tossing well to coat. Pass the Parmesan cheese for sprinkling.
