Toothpaste: It's What's for Dinner

My kids' favorite snack is toothpaste. Almost every day, I catch at least one of them squirting a three-inch long ribbon of Colgate into his/her mouth. Our attempts to ration the toothpaste almost always fail because no matter where we hide the tubes (or how high up on a shelf we put them), our kids manage to get a hold of them.

This afternoon, I wandered into the kids' bathroom and was horrified by what I found.

Lying next to my kids' toothbrushes, top unscrewed and contents leaking out, was not a tube of toothpaste, but a tube of cat hairball gel. I haven't asked anyone how they like their new toothpaste, but the fact that no one has voiced any complaints probably means that the salmon-flavored gel doesn't taste half bad. I was also very relieved to notice that the label on the hairball tube said "all-natural" and "safe for kittens and rabbits." That's a very good thing since my kids consumed about half of its contents.
