We've got lots of new intro threads going and it might be nice to keep them in one, neat place...

I'm Jill and I'm the community manager here. I have 3 kids (Evan, Ben and Lily) who are 2, 4 and 6. The below picture pretty much sums them up. :) I live in Baltimore, Maryland and spend WAY too much time on-line.

Tell me about YOU!

So funny you have 1 angel and 1 devil! I think there are lots of parents like that. Have you been very active on the boards? I'm just becoming more active and am looking to get to know everyone better. Love the girls' names. Can't wait to hear more about you and your family!

Hello everyone, my name is Heather. I am a parent of two lovely children, Tate 11 and Owen 1.  Had a little breather inbetween the two.  I am a stay at home mom, i keep busy selling avon. Not that they don't keep me busy, lol.  I am also new on here. This is actually my first day.

Welcome, Heather! I love the names Tate and Owen. I'm 10 years older than my own brother and we always have had a good relationship. Do you live in Ohio? (I noticed the cincy in your username, so I'm guessing!) I grew up in Pennsylvania. Looking forward to seeing you around the boards!Kim

Im Tamara.  I have been married for 5 years to my high school sweetheart. Four days after we eloped he went into the Marines. A year later I was brave enough to join the Marines as well. Unfortunately him deploying and then me deploying right in the middle of his deployment isnt all that fun. We didnt see eacdh other for 14 months. That was a doozy! Not many marriages survive with both people in the military. Last year I gave brith to the most wonderful daughter a woman can even ask for. I'm not being conceited either. People always tell me when I walk through a grocery store or some other public place. It never fails. She is my pride and joy. As of April I got out of the military because I wasnt one of those lucky women who shrink down to almost their original size  after child birth so I couldnt reenlist  due to the fact I couldnt lose all the weight I needed to. But being in the Marines was a great experience. Now I am a stay at home mom to my daughter and I love almost every minute of it.

First off, Semper Fi!  Much respect. I understand the whole deployment thing. My dad has been in for 25 years now and I know how bad deployment is but I'm proud of him. Now that I'm going in, my fiance will get the privilege to know what its like ahaha. But glad to hear everything worked out for yall. I was wondering if you had any advice on it all. Particularly how can I be a part of everything that goes on from pregnancy to growing kids while I'm gone?

Hey my name is Christian. I am about to be a commissioned officer in the Navy and marry my college sweetheart. I love the Navy, it's all I know. Born into a family of volunteers, generations and generations. I am excited about serving. I joined this sight to learn more about parenting and becoming one. We are not planning to have a child anytime soon, but I say it is always good to be prepared. I look forward to all the good advice. Please feel free to message me anytime, I like to hear what other people think and perceive.

Hi, I'm Alice.  I've, been married to my wonderful husband for almost 8 years & we have 4 girls, 6, 4, 2, and 6 months.  We live on a farm and have a dairy cow, two Austrian Shepherd mixes, a flock of chickens, dozens of fruit and nut trees, and about an acre vegetable garden.

I work from home and love it.  We homeschool, which is awesome!  (Plus, with Daddy's schedule, it's the only way the girls would ever see him.)  We do all kinds of crafts just to see how much fun they are - and we all love fun outdoor games like softball, tennis, surfing (just Mommy, Daddy, & our 6 year old, so far!), swimming, and canoeing.  I just graduated with my BA and now it's Daddy's turn - so I can tutor him, lol!

I do some tutoring online for friends with their girls in High school, babysit any time I can, tutor occasionally at home, create computer applications (program), am a published author (been writing since I can remember), sometimes do fitness groups (I love "mommy & me" workouts!), and run a fitness/health business.

I also have hobbies I love: crochet, canning (my secret to a $300/month food budget!), sewing, beading, programming, writing, building (animal pens, furniture, etc.), cooking, cake decorating, baking, teaching, reading, and pretty much anything we can do as a family.

   Nice to meet everyone! :)

Wow! You stay busy! What an inspiration! I'd be lucky to find time for one of the things on your list, let alone all the fun hobbies! I started jewelry making a couple of years ago, but have kind of let it go lately. You might have just convinced me to get back to it. We love to kayak as a family and used to canoe when the kids were littler. Do you live near a lake?  What's your BA in? So much interesting info. Thanks for sharing! Also, I'd love to hear more of your food budget secrets. Feeding teen boys is as expensive as they say, I'm finding out.
Nice to meet you!
You can say THAT again. Aye carumba! There's a teen and an almost tween in my house and its like a tornado whipped through my cupboards every weekend (they are with us Friday Saturday and Sunday). They aren't overly cooperative either when we have fruit and veggies and "make it yourself" foods available (eggs sandwhich meat, etc.).

PS I LOVE Memphis! Wish I could get back there for another vacay. Great city.

Seems like we have a decent number of military families here. I have total respect for dual military. It's so hard. When we lived in Germany, we were on the family plan of two families and it's always so crazy thinking that *I'm* their best local option, because when you move far away from family, you just have to rely on your military friends to be family. Do you miss it at all?
My husband and I met in high school, too. And your daughter is so cute!

Thank You. That is very sweet of you. He is back he came back early because of my emotinal and mental state. I went on a few of those sites and they bashed me and in a nut shell told me to buck up :( They just made it worse. I decided to carry my son on my back yesterday when we went to the nature center because he was very tired...we had been there for a while....and that was a HUGE mistake. I can't even stand up to long now because of the pain. I hope they find something soon to. My hubby thinks its a pinched nerve. It's gret you love memphis because I am not a huge fan lol. I'm Anabel and I'm the "keeper of the name database" and a Community Leader here at ParentsConnect. I'm a stepmom to two boys ages 14 and 9. I moved to the East Bay area of San Francisco from northern Wisconsin a year ago to make it permanent with my honey. I'm a music junkie and a name nerd and love to read and write. I have a dog whom I'm mind melded with. I swear we are one entity.

Here's a pic of Camilio (14) and Angelo (9) weightless at the Chabot Space Center. Its a couple of years old now, but I love this picture.

I'm Cathy and my hubby's name is Wes. We live in Southaven, MS but I 've lived my whole life in Memphis, TN. I turned 18 while pg with my son, Josh, who will be 3 October 12th. Wes had Chloe before he met me and she will be 2 December 7th. Neither of us were married before. My hubby is in the army and he left 3 days after we got married to go to Iraq. We celebrated a year June 10th 2010 :) Josh and Chloe (when we have her) keep me busy all day. Parent's Connect keeps me sain lol. I only get on her though when I have to sit down because of my back. Ever since I had Josh I have had back problems and the doctors can't figure out whats wrong.....I am so sick of Drs offices and pain killers and muscle relaxers and xrays.

Hey! I'm new on here so this is perfect for me. I can't wait to get to know you guys.

I also live in Maryland (though I'm about an hour away from Balitmore). Small world! I've got 3 kids, too (Annie-13, James-9, and Alex-5). I am currently getting to know what it's like to be a mom of a teenaged girl (who is going to high school next year! Help me!). Plus, my youngest son will be heading to kindergarten in the Fall. Crazy.

I love to read, cook, listen to music, and I spend way too much time online, too.

I have one starting high school next year, too, and it's making me kind of crazed! I thought it was hard when my oldest hit double digits, but this is really making me feel my age!
Kindergarten and high school will be two big milestones for you! Can't wait to hear how it goes.
