Moose and Zee???
Does anyone know what happen to Moose A Moose and Zee on NickJr?? My son and i were watching it yesterday and then today nothing its a completly new commerical set, which is not good, and there not even on the website anymore?? Does anyone know what happen to them?? My son LOVES them that is one of the reasons why we watch NickJr because as soons as the shows are over he runs into the playroom and is mesermized by Moose and Zee, he loves the songs, and all the educational things Moose and Zee do. Does anyone know why NickJr got rid of them or if they moved to a new network?

I really think Moose and Zee need to come back on the air. I do not like all of the commerials and not enough education. My son loved Moose and Zee and i think it really helped him to learn. I have a daughter now and would love for her to see moose and zee on tv. I am not a big tv fan but i loved the fact that when my son would watch nick jr. I knew he was also learning. I think it really is doing a diservice to the kids. Please bring back Moose and Zee! and get rid of the commercials. Thanks!

Our kids REALLY miss them, no need to "get over it". I guess they should remove TV Land & Nick @ Nite too then? So we can ALL "get over" all those old shows? The characters were classics and signatures of the network long before Fresh Beat Band. I think in a 24 hour time span they ALL could be given a chance to educate & entertain. We ARE paying for it.

They did say they would change, but at about the same time they switched. They had a short song on February 29, 2012 at 6:00 AM called Nick Jr. Changes on Leap Day 2012, and you can find it on YouTube.
Anyways, the last time me and my 1 year-old watched Nick Jr., we were lucky we saw it at 5:56 AM and at 6:00 AM he said "where is moose and zee?" and I didn't see them ever say "We are leaving. Bye!"

P.S. I was about 23 when Moose A. Moose first came.

My 4 year old is very upset about Moose and Zee! He loves them and watches for them now. I don't understand why they would take them off!? The kids listen to the lessons they teach and learn from them!

Its been a month already and I'm wondering when this will all stop. It's a done deal, and if they come back, great, but its highly unlikely. Go watch Nick Jr, Nick, Disney, Disney Jr, the new and improved Disney Jr. channel, PBS, whatever. I think that the parents are making this the bigger issue. Kids are pretty resilient. Let them learn that things change, and move on. There are so many wonderful programs to watch on all the channels. I won't settle, and neither will my kids. They just move on, and I expect them to know that no matter what happens, things change and you have to make the best of it. I don't think they've even noticed. It's just best at this point to move on to better things. =) And no, Im not attacking anyone, or saying that you shouldn't care about kids feelings, but will you ALWAYS be there to change something your kids don't like? It's impossible.

Here is what I sent to Nick Jr. via the "Contact Us" on the main page:
To Whom it Mat Concern:
I'm not going to write some lengthy message, because I know that COUNTLESS other concerned parents have done this. I do, however, want to voice my concern about the removal of Moose and Zee from Nick Jr. My son loved them more than the shows themselves and learned tons, now, not so much. I just want to let you know that you have lost a viewer unless Moose and Zee are brought back.
Sincerely,
Megan Snyder

This makes me so sad my son loves moose and zee!!! He looked forward to puzzle time and the songs Moose and Zee sing. We spend alot of other time doing stuff besides watching T.V. but he looks forward to Moose and Zee. Since the change we do not watch Nick Jr. rarely at all I do not like the new Franklin and friends, I do not like Mike the Knight nor does my son. We having being watching Sprout when we have the T.V. on. I just don't understand why they took Moose and Zee off, the only way my son watches Moose now is on you tube. I really hope that Nick Jr. will bring back Moose and Zee!!!!

As for those who like the change: that's cool, too. You'e allowed to like it! But do understand that there are very many of us who do not, and we are as allowed to voice our opinions as you are.
As for parents who seem to think we're plopping our kids down in front of the TV and/or relying on it to educate our children: goodness, really? I think most of us do strike a healthy balance between TV and play and spend plenty of time outside, getting fresh air and learning from the world around us; in our house, my little one only watches a little bit at a time, and I am always there with her. We understand that TV is just another tool in a parent's tool belt, and certainly not a big part of the day, nor the prime source of educational materials! However, that doesn't change the fact that we and our kids do like Moose and Zee, and we *are* certainly allowed to miss them, and this seems like an appropriate place to speak out about that.
For those who think Moose and Zee lack any educational value: Well, I can only speak for my family, but we used the songs as starting points for learning (for example, we'd sing the "Fall" song while outside, and we'd point out leaves and fall colors, or we'd talk about our neighborhood when out for the day, or "critters" we see, and so on). Sometimes we'd sing the songs while cleaning or when out for a drive, just for fun. :)
The whole manner in which this was handled just seems so abrupt and thoughtless (was any research done first?), especially coming from a channel that promised to be a safe place, or, to quote their own advertisements: "like a friend you can totally trust".
We have not watched Nick Jr. since the change, and will not be going back.
Thanks for reading.

I, too, have contacted Nick Jr.; here's what I sent. I hope it explains why it bothers many of us, and why it's more than just being upset by a programming chance or the removal of cartoon characters.
To whom it may concern:
I know Moose and Zee may just have been characters on a screen, but my little one adored them! If this was supposed to be television for preschoolers, why was everything switched so abruptly, and without warning? It doesn't seem as if actual children were considered in this change at all. Some people have said that it's just TV, and we shouldn't make a big deal about it, but I beg to differ. All along Nick Jr. has told us "it's a safe place to visit!" and "it's like a friend you can totally trust!", with their charming, reassuring, and charismatic hosts Moose and Zee, and their gentle lessons, and their (almost) commercial-free programming. We didn't watch much at a time (as I do believe in lots of play- and reading-time too, as I'm sure lots of other parents speaking out here do), but I enjoyed the times we did watch together, and I thought the people at Nick really cared about children. This is more than just a programming switch; this feels like a betrayal of trust. I think that's why so many of us are disappointed, upset, and even outraged. The night before the switch, my little one and I had been happily singing along with Moose and the Neighborhood Parade song: "it surely does feel like home to me"! Then, the next morning, she waited excitedly for them to come on, bobbed up and down and smiled happily, pointed at the screen and... nothing. Nothing but the same over-exposed, over-marketed characters with merchandise tie-ins that don't interest my preschooler, anyway. Why was this done so quickly and without warning? If you truly cared about kids, wouldn't it have been better to work in a way to tell them about the change? That, and pirates! Why does a preschooler need to know about pirates and "swashbucklers"? Pirates were not great people. Pirates TODAY are not great people. I'm all for imaginative and creative play and dress-up, but surely there must be a better subject to introduce to little children with this launch than pirates? Moose and Zee taught her words she could use every day, at the very least. I believe (and I'm sure many other here do too) that television should just be a small part of a child's day (if at all), but when we do watch together, I want her to see quality programming, not over-saturated, over-hyped PowerPoint-type dreck. Life is exciting enough for a little kid without needing MORE big, bold colors and characters who only seem to yell at them (such as Dora and Diego vs. Oswald and Little Bear). I'm sorry you felt you had to remove Moose and Zee. We will not be watching any longer. P.S.: Please don't suggest I lie to my child and tell them Moose and Zee are working behind the scenes, when you didn't tell us ahead of time what was going to happen, and haven't responded to any of our posts here with any real answers. And please please please, if you DO bring Moose and Zee back in some fashion, please do NOT give them the same treatment as the "new" Franklin. There is enough overly CG'd junk on television as it is; Moose and Zee were charmingly different. They will be missed.

Make sure everyone signs the petition on Change.Org to bring back Moose and Zee. I myself have written to Viacom (parent company to Nick) and clicked on the contact us link at the bottom of this page and emailed nick jr. They have to respond to the thousands of parents who are furious with this decision. My 22 month old is so sad that theres no Moose on tv...EVER. He points and asks wheres Moose?....and I just want to slap the person who thought this was a good idea. Since the day this new programming was put in place, my tv has not been on Nick at all!!! I suggest everyone do the same. If they lose viewers, they should try to fix that. Im so disappointed in this company now. And they have commercials now..ugh! The new shows that they play now, are so boring, my kids walked away. So, Nick jr., you've lost another customer!

No Moose and Zee threads have been deleted. I have moved the threads with lesser replies to our Kid message board here. Our Kid board is where we talk about our kids, or things related to kids, whereas this board is our "General" Chat board.
I have left this thread open simply because there are so many replies, but I may move it as well, since it is better suited and would be more appropriately placed on our Kid Chat board.
