10 Habits for a well run home...
http://thestressedmom.com/2012/03/10-habits-for-a-well-run-home/
I came across this on Pinterest (gotta love that site!) and it really has helped.
I make sure I do the load of laundry every day and take the 5 minutes to clean the bathrooms.
I need to get on menu planning!

Okay, maybe it's because I have so many kids, but I thought for sure that #1 and #5 are not options when it comes to motherhood, lol. Everything on this list I already do. If I didn't, my life would be in total chaos. You wouldn't believe how far behind on laundry I would be if I only did one load a day!

lol... I was just thinking this morning how much nicer it is to only do one load a day. It is kinda funny how different we all can be on something as simple as laundry.
My H's clothes get washed by themselves (he is a builder and is often dirty). My kids are also seperate because they have sensitive skin.
I rarely mix all of our laundry

The only thing that I don't really do is #10, which involves not saying "yes" to things immediately. I almost always do this, even thpough I keep a calendar, rigidly. I always end up doing too much or offering myself up to do things when I don't realistically have the time to do it as I would like. Too many irons in the fire.
My laundry tactic is that I have instituted the washing machine as the laundry hamper. Whever anyone has anything that is dirty, it goes directly into the washer. When the washer is full, it is time to do a load. Now, many times I have to pull things out and sort, but when dealing with such a smaller amount of stuff, its a piece of cake. It is a rule that I have always had for myself...and it makes laundry so inconsequential. So much less of a task.
I rarely every have to do dishes. Marc usually does any if he sees them in the sink. Its one thing he hates, having dishes in the sink. I take advantage of that all the time!
After reading your laundry post, I have also decided to cut out the laundry middle man and put clothes directly in the washer. And now I'm left wondering what the point of a hamper is at all.........! Another thing I am trying to do is unload the dishwasher as soon as it is done running. Dishes only become "something that needs to be done" at our house when my SO and I are trying to wait the other one out to see who will empty the dishwasher first.
The only use my hamper gets is whne I have to take a couple items out that I just feel the need to seperate, so sometimes I end up splitting one full washer load up into two. So clothes are only in there for a short period of time...just enough time for one load to be done and put into the dryer. That's why I got a decorative woven basket for a hamper instead of an actual hamper. It can look decent just sitting there empty.
Magster, I usually end up seperating one load into two...one that would benefit from warmer water (socks, unders, towels) and one to wash in cold. Today, there are very few things that are non-colorfast to worry about, and if I have one of those things, I know what it is ahead of time and I just pull it out. My delicate items like a dress or special blouse I would likely not do anything but hand wash anyway.

Now I'm wondering if I'm insanely anal about my laundry...The thought of washing (well, drying) a big bath towel or jeans with a delicate shirt or my husband's dress pants makes me cringe. As does mixing whites with colors. I have 4 laundry baskets set up for everyone to sort their own dirty clothes as they take them off, and so I can keep it all organized. I'm not quite as bad in the summer when I'm hanging most of it outside to dry, though.

I think doing one load of laundry a day would make me insane! lol I prefer doing it all in one day and getting it all put away, so I can breathe easily for a few days, knowing it's done.

I like that list! I do a lot of those already.
I recently switched to doing laundry just one day a week and I have to say that for me, it's so much nicer. I get it out of the way rather than feeling like I'm constantly doing laundry. ;)

I actually do most (if not all) of these already. It really does help! :) Love Pinterest too, btw.
I love Pinterest! I would be lost without it

Great read...I already do some of those things but need to get on a few more of them.

i do none of these things. of course that's the pleasure of being a stay at home mom w/ only one kid, and that kid is in school. we're never in a rush to do ANYTHING.

I was / am the same way about putting the laundry away. I would always " wait" until it was all done but with only doing one load a day that is not an excuse. I really like it! I feel like I accomplish something

I like that!
Will have to start doing the same thing. I've gotten really bad about putting laundry away.
