Do you carry cash with you?
I went to Michael's the other night to get some yarn and it was just under $3. I had to use my card because I didn't have cash on me. I half apologized to the cashier because I like to have some cash on me. She was considerably younger than me (late teenns / early 20s) and she said how she never has any cash on her.
So just wondering if it was an age thing too... (I am 34)

I always carry cash with me...we took the Dave ramsey class and we carry envelopes for the things that we are going to buy...we don't even have a credit card anymore...so freeing :)

I usually carry cash on me. In my wallet, I always carry an emergency 20 in case omehting happens and I need it (something I got from my mother) - I usually use the card for online things or if I'm buying something big and I wasn't planning on it. I'd rather pay in cash, anyway, if I can.

I'm 30 and hardly have any bank notes with me. I personally find it easier to pay with my debit card or visa. Just swipe it and go. Now I do typically always have a few fivers or so with me just incase I'm in a place that only accepts notes though.
I forget sometimes that we are all across the planet.. I love seeing "bank notes" :)

I'm 31 and I like to keep some cash on-hand, at least in the summer. I never know when I'm going to come across a rummage sale or flea market, or need it for the ice cream truck! Plus there are some local places I shop that kindly ask you to use cash if you can, because it costs them money to run credit/debit cards. So I try to help them out and use cash. I usually keep about $40 in my wallet, though it may stay there for weeks at a time.

with Yellowwatts, budget with cash on hand. Someitmes I have debit instead but rarely. We dont use credit, ever. I don't even have a cc and refuse to. If we want somethign we save the cash and buy. Our new mattress , along with W's we paid in cash the girl commented on how 99% of her purchases are made we CC;s we seemed so funny lol. Whatever, took it out of the machine a few minutes before I just like to see the cash in hand, lol.

I usually try to carry some on me since I feel bad using a credit card for purchases under $5 or so. That said, I haven't used an ATM in ... probably 4 or 5 years?! Dh does and splits the cash with me; I don't even remember my PIN!

I'm 23, I generally carry a mix of bills (generally a 5 and 5 ones) and a variety of change as well as my checkbook and debit and credit cards in my purse. There are places here that only take cash/check and don't take credit/debit cards. I also like having cash for an emergency because pay phones don't take cards (I do have a cell phone and 2 batteries) and you can't pay a taxi or bus using cards (I have my own vehicle). And it's nice to be able to toss a few coins into a fund for the children's hospital, humane society, VFW, or other fund raising place. I even like to get stickers, bubble gum, and cheap keychains and jewelry from those little quarter vending machines just for fun. Some businesses here, particularly fast food places, won't take a card if the cost of whatever item(s) is $5 or less so cash or check is necessary. And we have to buy city garbage bags and they don't take card either, so you have to pay in cash or check if you want your trash to get hauled away (you HAVE to buy the bags or go to the local dump and pay to dispose of the trash yourself).

I use to not carry much cash but now I do. I budget out money for recreation, eating out, groceries and extras and I carry all that in cash so I can keep track of what I spend.

Never. I probably should have at least five or ten in my wallet just in case, but I don't.

Usually I can carry change around with me so like £1, £2 and sometimes £5 pound notes but most of the time I use a card anyway. I'm 21 by the way!
